Born in Barcelona, Spain, in 1932, he lost his right arm at the edge of twelve
after complications from a break. His father, a doctor, operated and saved his life.
He came to Canada in 1954 and quickly rose to prominence through his sculpture and mural
work for buildings in many North American cities. He worked with cast aluminum,
fired clay, cement and plastic to complete his commisions. He created an exterior mural of
over three thousand square feet for Cite Universiaire du Quebec Science Pavilion, and
eight large size murals for Place Des Arts, in Montreal. His murals can
also be found in Toronto, Chicago, New York, Ottawa and Alberta. Bonet also created a
stained glass window of over 5000 square feet for Kennedy International Airport as
well as other windows for the United Nations in New York. He died in 1979 in Montreal.
