Born in Split, Croatia in 1968, Maja moved to Montreal in 1975. She graduated from McGill University in Art History, and has a degree in Fine Arts from Concordia University. Using watercolour and collage, Maja explores the still-life genre with originality. She seamlessly blends interior scenes with exterior scenes, and her portraits are infused with images of the natural world. There is a layered, dream-like quality to these works. The artist captures a moment in time, but it is fleeting, ephemeral. Maja Vodanovic has been with Gallerie Valentin since 1998.
