Ozias Leduc had a long and prolific career as Church decorator for 31 churches in Quebec, Nova Scotia and the eastern United States. For his own pleasure he painted still lifes, landscapes and portraits, always in search of a beauty that would lead to a greater truth. « By respectfully exalting the real », wrote Ozias Leduc, (think for a moment that Nature must be handled gently of extract poetry), this art will necessarily add beauty to the world (think here at the supreme goal of art) ».
